IIS Seminar – IS for Behavior Change (ISBC)

This seminar is held in English.

The Digital Transformation group led by Prof. Verena Tiefenbeck investigates how IS can be used for behavior change in diverse applications to pursue personally relevant goals, promote healthy habits, sustainability aspects, job satisfaction, employee productivity, data donations, etc.

Seminar attendees will conceptualize an experimental study in their thesis. They will not have to conduct this study, but will be expected to fully work out the experimental design, sampling plan, analysis plan, etc., in addition to an elaboration on expected results and implications. To accommodate students from all backgrounds, the seminar will kick off with online sessions introducing experimental methodology.

Topics for theses in this seminar will include, but are not limited to, the domains of:

  • IS in Transport, particularly promoting sustainable behaviors
  • IS in Food Choice, particularly promoting healthy behaviors
  • IS to support energy conservation behaviors
  • Behavioral and attitudinal patterns in data-sharing contexts, particularly data donation
  • Unproductive Use of IS: Digital Interventions for Screentime Reduction
  • Leveraging Organizational IS, particularly CRM
  • Investigating How Gen AI Shapes the Way We Think and Decide
